Terms of Use
Effective October 15, 2026
These Terms cover your use of the Obverse app, the website at obverseapp.com, and dealer workspaces. We've tried to write them so they can be read. If anything is unclear, ask us at support@obverseapp.com.
If you live in the United States, section 17 says that most disputes between you and Obverse will be resolved by individual arbitration rather than in court, and that you give up the right to bring or join a class action. You can opt out within 30 days. Please read it. If you live outside the United States, section 19 explains how your local law applies instead.
1. Agreeing to these terms
1.1 These Terms of Use ("Terms") are a legal agreement between you and Obverse LLC, a Washington limited liability company ("Obverse," "we," "us," "our"). They cover the Obverse mobile app, the website at obverseapp.com and its subdomains (including dealer workspaces at a name of your choice followed by .obverseapp.com), and everything you can do with them (together, the "Service").
1.2 You accept these Terms when you create an account, or when you use the Service after they've been shown to you. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1.3 Our Privacy Policy, at obverseapp.com/privacy, explains how we handle your information. Please read it.
1.4 Some features come with extra terms that we show you before you use them, such as the details of a subscription. Those extra terms are part of your agreement with us. If they conflict with these Terms, the extra terms control for that feature.
2. Who can use Obverse
2.1 You must be at least 16 years old to use Obverse, wherever you live. No one under 16 may create an account or use the Service.
2.2 If you're 16 or 17, or under the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must agree to these Terms for you, and is responsible for your use, including any purchase.
2.3 When you sign up, you confirm that you're 16 or older. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we'll delete the account and its content.
2.4 Obverse isn't currently offered to people in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland. We'll update these Terms before it is.
2.5 You can't use the Service if the laws of the United States or the place you live bar you from it, or if we've closed an account of yours for breaking these Terms.
2.6 If you use the Service for a business, you confirm you're authorized to accept these Terms for it, and "you" includes that business.
3. Your account
3.1 You need an account for most of the Service. Give us accurate information, use an email address that belongs to you, and keep it current.
3.2 Keep your password private and don't share your account. If you turn on two-step sign-in, keep your recovery codes somewhere safe. If you lose your password, your authenticator and your recovery codes, we may not be able to give you back access, because doing so could let someone else in.
3.3 You're responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has used it, change your password and tell us at support@obverseapp.com right away.
3.4 We'll send you messages about your account and the Service, such as confirming your email, resetting your password, security alerts, receipts and changes to these Terms. You agree to receive these electronically. They count as written notice.
4. What Obverse is, and what it isn't
4.1 Obverse lets you record the coins and banknotes you own, photograph them, group them into collections and wishlists, look up catalog information, and ask for retail guide values. Dealers can also run a business workspace.
4.2 Obverse is a record-keeping and reference tool. It isn't a marketplace, auction, dealer, broker, grading service, authentication service or appraiser. We don't buy, sell, hold, inspect, insure or ship any item, and we're not a party to any deal between you and anyone else.
4.3 Nothing in the Service is financial, investment, tax, insurance or legal advice.
4.4 We keep improving Obverse, so features will be added, changed and sometimes removed. Features marked as early or beta may be less reliable and may change or end.
5. Your content is yours
5.1 "Your Content" means what you put into the Service: your items and their details, notes, collections, wishlists, photographs, your name, and anything else you add. You keep ownership of Your Content.
5.2 You give Obverse a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, resize and reformat, process, transmit and display Your Content. We use this license only to provide the Service to you and to the people you choose (for example, members of a workspace you belong to), to keep the Service secure, to fix problems, and to comply with the law.
5.3 We don't sell Your Content, use it for advertising, show your private collection to other users, or use your photographs or notes to train artificial intelligence models. If we ever offer a feature that uses Your Content in another way, it will be off until you turn it on.
5.4 The license ends when Your Content is deleted from the Service, except for copies in backups until they expire and anything the law requires us to keep.
5.5 You're responsible for Your Content. You confirm that you own it or have the right to give us this license, and that it doesn't break the law or infringe anyone's rights, including copyright in photographs you didn't take.
5.6 Keep your own copies of anything important. You can see and correct Your Content in the Service at any time, export your items as a file from Profile, and ask us for a copy of everything else, including your photographs (see the Privacy Policy).
6. Catalog information and values
6.1 Where it comes from. Catalog information, reference numbers, descriptions, images, and retail guide values in the Service ("Catalog Information") come from third-party providers under license, and from our own work. Values come from a licensed third-party price guide (the "Price Guide Provider"). Our providers and we keep all rights in Catalog Information. Their data in the Service doesn't mean they endorse Obverse or you.
6.2 What a value means. A value is an informational retail guide value that the Price Guide Provider publishes for a type of item in a stated grade. It is not an appraisal, an authentication, a grading opinion, a guarantee of value or an offer to buy or sell anything. It isn't what your particular item is worth or will sell for, and it isn't what a dealer would pay you, which is usually less. Real prices depend on the item's eye appeal, problems, pedigree, demand and where it's sold. A collection total is the sum of guide values, not what the collection would fetch. Catalog Information may be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Values are in US dollars.
6.3 Your details drive the result. Obverse doesn't examine your items. The grade, certification number, attribution and description are what you enter, and a value depends on them. Getting them right is up to you.
6.4 Don't rely on it alone. Don't rely on the Service alone when you buy, sell, insure, donate, divide or declare anything. Insurance, tax, estate and charitable purposes may legally require a qualified appraisal.
6.5 How values work. You can ask for the value of one item or many items at once, and plans that include it can show the total value of a whole collection. Every value is fetched live from the Price Guide Provider each time you ask, and counts against your plan's monthly lookup limit. Each item included in a collection total counts as one lookup. Values are never stored, saved to your records or included in exports. Seeing a value again later is a new lookup.
6.6 What you may do with it. Catalog Information is licensed to you only to view inside the Service for your own personal use, or, in a dealer workspace, for that dealer's internal use. You may not copy, scrape, download in bulk, resell, publish or redistribute Catalog Information. You may not copy values out of the Service into a list, database or price sheet (including by screenshots), put them in public listings, advertisements or offers, or use Catalog Information to build another product or database.
6.7 Availability. Our providers may change, limit or stop their data, and we may change providers. When that happens, some Catalog Information or values may be unavailable. If that affects something you paid for, section 10 explains what happens.
6.8 Our providers. Our providers aren't responsible to you for Catalog Information, and you agree not to make claims against them about it.
7. Rules for using the Service
7.1 You agree not to:
- break any law or anyone's rights while using the Service;
- use the Service to make, sell, advertise or pass off counterfeit or altered coins, banknotes, certification holders or labels, or to deceive anyone about an item, its grade, its origin, its certification or its value;
- offer or describe a replica or imitation as genuine, or fail to mark it as a copy where the Hobby Protection Act or other law requires;
- record, sell or hide items you know or suspect are stolen;
- use the Service to make, store or share images meant for printing or reproducing money;
- upload anything unlawful, infringing or harmful, or anything you don't have the right to share, including other people's personal information except as section 11 allows;
- access or try to access accounts, data, systems or parts of the Service that aren't yours, or test their security without our written permission;
- interfere with or overload the Service, or get around any limit, allowance, protection or access control;
- use bots, scrapers or other automated means to access the Service or collect data from it, except through tools we provide for that purpose;
- copy, modify, sell, rent, sublicense or make derivative works of the Service or the app, or decompile or reverse engineer them, except where the law allows it despite this restriction;
- use the Service to build a competing product, or to send spam or malware;
- help or encourage anyone else to do any of these things.
7.2 Images of money. You may photograph your items to record and document them. Federal law limits reproductions of US currency and obligations (including 18 U.S.C. 474 and 504), and other countries have similar laws. We may reduce the size or resolution of images, or remove them, to comply.
7.3 Reporting a problem. If you believe content in the Service is illegal or breaks these Terms, tell us at support@obverseapp.com, with where it is and why. For copyright, use section 8.
8. Copyright complaints
8.1 We respect copyright and expect you to. If you believe material in the Service infringes your copyright, send our designated agent a notice that includes: your physical or electronic signature; a description of the work; where the material is in the Service; your contact details; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized by the owner, its agent or the law; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you're the owner or authorized to act for the owner.
8.2 Designated agent: Copyright Agent, Obverse LLC, c/o Northwest Registered Agent LLC, 522 W Riverside Ave, Ste N, Spokane, WA 99201-0581, USA. Email support@obverseapp.com. Phone (425) 940-4999.
8.3 If we remove your material after a notice and you believe that was a mistake, you can send a counter-notice as the law allows. We close the accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.
9. What belongs to Obverse
9.1 The Service, including the app, the website, their design, software, text and graphics, the Obverse name and the O mark, belongs to Obverse LLC and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Apart from Your Content and the limited rights in these Terms, nothing here transfers any rights to you.
9.2 Subject to these Terms, we give you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download and use the app on devices you own or control, and to use the Service, while you have an account. Don't use the Obverse name or mark in a way that suggests we endorse you.
9.3 If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely without owing you anything.
10. Price and paid features
10.1 Free use and plans. Much of the Service is free. Retail values come with a monthly lookup limit that depends on your plan, and some features, such as collection totals, are available only on some plans. The app shows what each plan includes before you choose it. Limits reset at the start of each calendar month (UTC), and unused lookups don't carry over. We may change free limits for future months; we'll tell you in the app before a change takes effect.
10.2 Where you buy. Subscriptions are sold only in the app, through the App Store or Google Play. Before you buy, the store and the app show you the price, the billing period, what's included, that it renews automatically, and how to cancel. Those details are part of these Terms.
10.3 Free trials. Some subscriptions start with a free trial. The store shows the trial length and the price that follows before you start. A free trial turns into a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
10.4 Automatic renewal. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the price then in effect, and your payment method is charged, until you cancel. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current one ends. When you cancel, you keep the paid features until the end of the period you've paid for.
10.5 How to cancel.
- App Store: open Settings on your iPhone, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Obverse.
- Google Play: open the Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, then Obverse.
Deleting the app or your Obverse account doesn't cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your store account.
10.6 Price changes. If we raise a subscription price, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you, and the store will ask for your agreement where its rules or the law require. You can cancel before the new price applies.
10.7 Refunds. Purchases are also governed by the App Store's or Google Play's terms, including billing, renewal, cancellation and refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies; we can't issue them directly. This doesn't limit any refund right the law gives you.
10.8 If a paid feature stops. If we stop offering a paid feature, or retail values become unavailable for more than 14 days in a row, we'll tell you, stop renewals for the affected subscription, and help you ask the store for a refund of the unused part of your current period.
10.9 Taxes. Prices may include or add taxes, as the store shows at checkout.
11. Dealer workspaces
This section applies to businesses that create or use a dealer workspace. If a business has signed a separate agreement with Obverse, that agreement controls where it conflicts with this section.
11.1 Definitions. "Dealer" means the business that creates a workspace. The "Owner" is the account that controls it. "Members" are the people the Dealer lets in. "Workspace Data" means everything the Dealer and its Members put in the workspace, such as inventory, purchases, sales, consignments, company records, photographs and contacts, including personal information about the Dealer's customers, consignors and suppliers ("Customer Personal Data").
11.2 Early access. Dealer workspaces are offered by invitation while we build them out. Features may change, and the workspace is provided as is (section 14).
11.3 The Dealer owns Workspace Data. We use Workspace Data only to provide the Service to the Dealer, to secure and support it, to fix problems, and to comply with the law. We don't sell Workspace Data, share it with other dealers or users, use it for advertising, or use it to train artificial intelligence models.
11.4 Market statistics. We may create aggregated, de-identified statistics from Workspace Data, such as how prices for a type and grade of item have moved, and use them to improve the Service. These statistics never identify a Dealer, a Dealer's customers or any single transaction. They are not Workspace Data.
11.5 We process Customer Personal Data for the Dealer. For Customer Personal Data, the Dealer decides why and how it's processed, and Obverse acts as the Dealer's service provider and processor. We will:
- process it only on the Dealer's documented instructions, which are these Terms and the Dealer's use of the Service, unless the law requires otherwise, in which case we'll tell the Dealer first where the law allows;
- not sell or share it (as those words are defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act), and not keep, use or disclose it outside our direct business relationship with the Dealer or for any purpose other than providing the Service;
- not combine it with personal information we get from other sources, except as the law allows a service provider to;
- comply with privacy laws that apply to us as a service provider or processor and give it the level of protection those laws require;
- tell the Dealer if we can no longer meet these duties, and let the Dealer take reasonable steps to stop and fix any unauthorized use;
- make sure everyone who can access it is bound to keep it confidential;
- keep appropriate technical and organizational security measures in place;
- use only the subprocessors listed in our Privacy Policy, update that list before adding a new one, and hold each one to data protection terms at least as protective as these. If the Dealer objects to a new subprocessor, it may close its workspace and stop paying for the rest of its term;
- reasonably help the Dealer respond to requests from people about their information, and with its security and breach notification duties;
- tell the Dealer without undue delay, and within 72 hours after confirming it, if a security breach affects Customer Personal Data;
- delete or return it when the workspace closes (11.12);
- make available the information reasonably needed to show we meet these duties, and allow reasonable audits, normally by written questionnaire once a year or after a breach.
A Data Processing Addendum with more detail is available on request from support@obverseapp.com. It controls if it conflicts with this section.
11.6 The Dealer's responsibilities. The Dealer is responsible for:
- having the right to put Customer Personal Data in the Service, and giving its customers any notices and getting any consents the law requires;
- the accuracy and legality of Workspace Data;
- its Members' use of the workspace;
- its own legal duties as a dealer, such as sales tax, reporting large cash payments to tax authorities (in the US, payments over $10,000), anti-money-laundering rules for dealers in precious metals where they apply, secondhand and precious metal dealer laws, export and import rules, and consumer protection laws. Records kept in Obverse don't by themselves meet these duties, and we don't give tax or legal advice;
- not storing payment card numbers, bank account numbers, Social Security or other national ID numbers, government ID images or health information in the Service, except in a field we've labeled for that kind of information.
11.7 Members. The Owner decides who joins and what Members can see and do. When a Member leaves or deletes their account, the Dealer keeps its Workspace Data. The only Owner of a workspace that has other Members must make someone else an Owner, or remove the other Members, before deleting their own account.
11.8 Workspace names. Pick a workspace name you have the right to use. We may change or reclaim a name that infringes someone's rights, impersonates someone, or is misleading, after telling the Owner when that's reasonable. A name released when a workspace closes may be held for a time before anyone else can use it.
11.9 Confidentiality. Each side will protect the other's non-public business information that it receives through the Service with reasonable care, use it only for this relationship, and not disclose it except to people who need it and are bound to keep it confidential. Workspace Data is the Dealer's confidential information. This doesn't cover information that is public through no fault of the receiver, already known to it, or independently developed. If the law requires a disclosure, the receiver will give notice first when the law allows.
11.10 Availability and support. We work to keep the Service available and back it up, but we don't promise any level of uptime during early access. We may need maintenance windows, and we'll try to schedule them outside US business hours. Support is by email at support@obverseapp.com. Export Workspace Data regularly as your own backup.
11.11 Fees. Dealer workspaces are free during early access. If we introduce fees, we'll tell the Owner at least 30 days in advance, with the price and billing terms. The Owner can export Workspace Data and close the workspace before fees begin. Fees don't include taxes, which the Dealer pays.
11.12 Closing a workspace. The Owner can close a workspace at any time. We may suspend or close it for a serious or repeated breach of these Terms, or for unpaid fees after notice. After a workspace closes, the Owner has 30 days to export Workspace Data, unless we closed it because the law required us to. We then delete Workspace Data within 30 more days, except copies in backups until they expire and anything the law requires us to keep.
11.13 Business liability. For Dealers, section 15's limits apply, and our total liability is limited to the greater of the fees the Dealer paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and 100 US dollars. These limits don't apply to the Dealer's duty to pay fees or to its obligations under section 16.
11.14 Business disputes. Section 17 (arbitration) and the consumer rules in section 19 don't apply to disputes between Obverse and a Dealer. Those disputes are governed by Washington law and will be decided only in the state or federal courts in King County, Washington.
12. Other companies' services
The Service relies on and may link to services run by others, such as app stores, our hosting and email providers, our data providers, and certification services' websites. We're not responsible for those services, their content or their terms, which apply to your use of them.
13. Ending your use
13.1 You can stop using the Service at any time. You can delete your account, and everything in your personal collection, from Profile in the app, or on the website by opening Your account and choosing Delete your account. Section 11.7 explains the extra step for the only Owner of a dealer workspace.
13.2 We may suspend or close your account, or limit your access, if you break these Terms, if your use creates risk or legal exposure for us or other users, or if the law requires it. When it's reasonable and lawful, we'll tell you why first and give you a chance to fix the problem. You can ask us to reconsider by writing to support@obverseapp.com.
13.3 We may stop offering the Service or any part of it. If we close the Service as a whole, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice and a way to get a copy of Your Content before it's deleted.
13.4 Sections 5.4, 6, 9, 11.9, 11.12 to 11.14, and 14 to 24 continue after your use ends.
14. No warranties
14.1 We work hard to keep the Service accurate, secure and available. But it's provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, Obverse and its licensors and providers make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy and quiet enjoyment. We don't promise that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error free, that Catalog Information or values are accurate or complete, or that any data will never be lost.
14.2 Some places don't allow some of these exclusions, so they may not all apply to you. Where a warranty can't be excluded, it's limited to the shortest period the law allows. Section 19 explains rights that consumers in some countries keep.
15. Limits on our liability
15.1 To the fullest extent the law allows, Obverse and its members, employees, licensors and providers won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or the value of any item, arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms, even if we were told such damages were possible.
15.2 To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim and (b) 100 US dollars.
15.3 These limits apply whatever the legal theory, and even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. They don't limit liability for our gross negligence, willful misconduct or fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that can't be limited by law.
15.4 New Jersey residents. If you live in New Jersey, sections 14, 15 and 16 apply only as far as New Jersey law allows, and nothing in them limits rights you have under New Jersey law.
16. Your responsibility for claims
To the extent the law allows, you agree to defend and indemnify Obverse against third-party claims, and the resulting losses and reasonable legal costs, that arise from Your Content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of law or of anyone else's rights. We'll tell you promptly about any such claim, we may control the defense, and you'll cooperate. This doesn't apply to the extent a claim is caused by our own fault.
17. Resolving disputes
This section applies only if you live in the United States. If you live anywhere else, it doesn't apply to you, and section 19 does.
17.1 Talk to us first. Most problems are solved quickly by email. Before starting any formal proceeding, write to support@obverseapp.com, or to the address in section 24, with your name, the email on your account, a description of the problem and what you want. We'll try in good faith to resolve it within 60 days. Deadlines for bringing claims are paused during those 60 days.
17.2 Arbitration. If we can't resolve it, you and Obverse agree that any dispute arising from or relating to the Service or these Terms will be resolved by final and binding individual arbitration, not in court. This includes disputes about whether a claim must be arbitrated, which the arbitrator decides, except that a court decides disputes about the class action waiver and the public injunctive relief paragraph below. The American Arbitration Association (AAA) will administer the arbitration under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, before one arbitrator. It may happen by video, by phone, on written submissions, or in person in King County, Washington, or the county where you live. The Federal Arbitration Act governs this section. We'll pay the filing, administration and arbitrator fees beyond what you'd pay to file in court, unless the arbitrator finds your claim frivolous.
17.3 Many similar claims. If 25 or more similar arbitration demands are filed against Obverse, or by Obverse, with the help of the same or coordinated lawyers or organizations, the AAA's Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules apply.
17.4 No class actions. You and Obverse may bring claims against each other only individually, not as a plaintiff or class member in any class, collective or representative proceeding. The arbitrator may not combine more than one person's claims.
17.5 Public injunctive relief. If you seek an injunction for the benefit of the general public that the law doesn't allow to be waived, that request will be decided by a court after your individual claims are arbitrated, and the court case will be paused until then.
17.6 What stays out of arbitration. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead. Either of us may ask a court to stop infringement or misuse of intellectual property, or unauthorized access to the Service.
17.7 Opting out. You can reject this arbitration agreement by emailing support@obverseapp.com from the email on your account, or by writing to the address in section 24, within 30 days of first accepting these Terms. Say that you opt out of arbitration. Opting out doesn't affect the rest of these Terms.
17.8 Changes to this section. If we change this section, the change won't apply to a dispute you've already told us about. You can reject the change by writing to us within 30 days of the notice, and this section as it read before the change will continue to apply to you.
17.9 If part of this section fails. If the class action waiver is found unenforceable for a claim, that claim will go to court, not arbitration. If any other part of this section is found unenforceable, the rest of it still applies.
18. Governing law and courts
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, United States, and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict of laws rules. Any dispute that isn't arbitrated will be decided only in the state or federal courts located in King County, Washington, and you and Obverse consent to their jurisdiction. This section is subject to section 19.
19. If you live outside the United States
19.1 Your local rights come first. If you're a consumer, nothing in these Terms takes away a right or protection that the law of the country, province or state where you live doesn't allow a contract to remove. Where a part of these Terms conflicts with those rights, those rights apply and the rest of these Terms still applies.
19.2 Arbitration doesn't apply. Section 17 (arbitration and class actions) doesn't apply to you. If you're a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of the place where you live, and you may bring a claim in its courts.
19.3 Canada. If you're a consumer who lives in Canada, you keep the protections of the consumer law of your province, and you may bring a claim in the courts of your province. If you live in Quebec, the Quebec Consumer Protection Act applies, and any provision of these Terms that it doesn't permit doesn't apply to you. If we change these Terms, we'll give you at least 30 days' written notice that shows the new wording, the old wording and the date the change takes effect, and you may then end your agreement with us without cost.
19.4 Australia. If you live in Australia, our services come with guarantees that can't be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or changes those guarantees or your rights and remedies under them.
19.5 Talking to us first. Wherever you live, we'd welcome the chance to fix a problem before it goes further. Write to support@obverseapp.com.
20. If you got the app from the App Store
20.1 These Terms are between you and Obverse LLC only, not Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Obverse, not Apple, is solely responsible for the app and its content.
20.2 Your license to the app is a non-transferable license to use it on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions, except that it may also be accessed by other accounts associated with you through Family Sharing or volume purchasing.
20.3 Apple has no obligation to provide any maintenance or support for the app.
20.4 If the app fails to conform to any warranty that applies, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any, for the app. To the maximum extent the law allows, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs or expenses from any failure to conform to a warranty are Obverse's responsibility, to the extent these Terms don't exclude them.
20.5 Obverse, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or a third party relating to the app or your possession or use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the app fails to meet a legal or regulatory requirement, and claims under consumer protection, privacy or similar laws.
20.6 If a third party claims that the app or your possession and use of it infringes their intellectual property rights, Obverse, not Apple, is solely responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging the claim.
20.7 You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated by the US Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
20.8 Questions, complaints or claims about the app go to Obverse at the address, phone number and email in section 24.
20.9 You must comply with any third-party terms that apply when you use the app, such as your wireless data service agreement.
20.10 Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. When you accept them, Apple has the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce them against you as a third-party beneficiary.
21. If you got the app from Google Play
Your use of Google Play, and any purchase you make through it, is also governed by Google's terms. Google isn't responsible for the app or these Terms.
22. Changes to these terms
22.1 We may update these Terms, for example to reflect changes to the Service, the law or our providers. We'll post the new version here with its effective date. If a change is material, we'll tell you in the app or by email at least 14 days before it takes effect, unless the law or a security risk requires it sooner. Section 19.3 explains the longer notice for Quebec.
22.2 If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept it. If you don't agree, stop using the Service and delete your account. Section 17.8 explains how changes to the arbitration section work.
23. General terms
23.1 Whole agreement. These Terms, and any extra terms we show you for a feature (section 1.4), are the entire agreement between you and Obverse about the Service.
23.2 Severability and waiver. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be enforced as far as possible and the rest stays in effect. Not enforcing a part of these Terms isn't a waiver of it.
23.3 Assignment. You may not transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of assets, and they'll continue to bind the new owner. This won't reduce your rights as a consumer.
23.4 Events outside our control. We're not responsible for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as outages of our providers, natural disasters, or acts of government.
23.5 Export and sanctions. You may not use or export the app in violation of US export laws or sanctions, or those of the place you live.
23.6 No third-party rights. Except for Apple (section 20), no one other than you and Obverse has rights under these Terms.
23.7 Notices. We'll send notices to the email on your account or show them in the app. Send notices to us at support@obverseapp.com. Legal notices, such as an arbitration demand or an opt-out, may also be mailed to the address in section 24.
23.8 Language. These Terms are written in English. Any translation is for convenience, and the English version controls unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
